Blog Journal #5
Using Diigo, I had a mixed reaction when I first used it. I liked how you can annotate things on different websites and share them with others. Leaving notes for your peers or classmates is cool, and the in-browser tool helps out a lot because it expands the ranges of information you can note and annotate. However, I thought it was weird to use and I struggled with how it could be used practically in classrooms because the home page has a lot going on. I do think Diigo is a great tool, but it has to be utilized in a streamlined manner in the right situation.
Blogging is very fun, and I enjoy it very much. It's literally somewhere where I can talk about what I want and whenever I want. Nothing truly beats that. Blogging connects us together through our thoughts and opinions and unlike other social media, you can really get into detail and discuss with others. I've learned that while having a blog is very fun, you have to be respectful and reliable so that people are drawn to your blog and want to continue reading.
The web tool that I found that is very useful is Evernote. You can take notes online and share them with the people you choose to share them with. The app can be regulated by teachers in a classroom setting or students can have the liberty to freely operate while taking notes. You can also recorded voice and video notes with Evernote as well and I think that is a really cool feature. You can even work online and save projects, similar to using cloud technology to save and share projects with others you may be working with. It reminded me of Diigo and how a classroom can be connected through notes and annotations. I think Evernote can be a valuable classroom tool that can be utilized by teachers and students alike.
