For teacher pages on school websites, I looked around the internet to find some great examples of some teacher pages around the country. The information I saw on all of the class sites was pretty consistent with other pages. Introduction pages were a staple as well as class calendars and an area where students and parents could reach out to their teachers. The specific teacher page that I found was from a high school math teacher who combined all her classes into one class site. The page was very neat and formal, however, it was fun to use and had a lot of resources such as calendars and class handouts.

I envision myself using technology to further my educational goals and help others around me to become more efficient and effective. Technology provides us with great tools that can make our workflow easy and streamlined. This can help elevate my work and strive to do better than my peers in a professional setting. I enjoy the many uses that technology provides for us and I work to stay on top of the changes that occur in the technological world so I can stay up to date on the many changes that may occur. Technology also connects us with others in our communities so education can reach more people and more resources can be collected to benefit others.

In our visit to the Tech Sandbox, the virtual reality headsets were something that stuck out to me. When using them in education, there are a variety of subjects that can utilize virtual reality. Science is the first one that came to mind when I thought of the applications of virtual reality. Students can study things up close and enter into space, the ocean, or the inside of a cell to learn how they really work. History classes can also utilize virtual reality as students can travel back in time through history to learn more about the events that occurred throughout the world. I really enjoyed the presentation and I hope to be able to utilize this information throughout my educational career.

  1. Hey DJ,

I also thought that virtual reality could be pretty useful. Science and history were my first thoughts as well, but honestly I think you could expand it to other classes too. For example, an automotive class might be able to find a use for it to get a better look at different cars they might not have access to, and maybe a program could be made that would allow students to virtually practice different auto shop tasks- but I might be thinking a little too far ahead with that.
